FamilyBridge — Privacy Policy

In plain language: FamilyBridge keeps your family's information on your device. We don't run servers that collect it, we don't use ads or trackers, we don't require an account, and we never sell your data. If you turn on family sync, your data travels only through your own private iCloud — we can't see it.

1. Who we are

FamilyBridge is developed by VertexLab Solutions ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does and doesn't do with your information.

2. Information we collect

We do not collect your personal information. FamilyBridge has no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party trackers. We do not operate a server that receives your content.

Everything you enter — family members, notes, tasks, journals, check-ins, care records (medications, appointments), photos, messages, and vault entries — is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device database.

3. Optional family sync (iCloud)

If you choose to enable family sync, your data is synchronized through Apple iCloud / CloudKit using your own Apple ID and your family's private iCloud storage. In this mode:

Your data is stored in your iCloud account, not on our servers. We have no access to it.
Sharing with other family members happens through Apple's secure CloudKit sharing.
Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Family sync is off by default. If you never enable it, your data never leaves your device.

4. Device permissions

The app asks for these only when you use the related feature, and the data stays on your device:

Microphone — to record voice memos for family stories.
Calendar — to sync family events with your device calendar.
Face ID / Touch ID — to lock your private family vault. Biometric data never leaves the device and is handled entirely by Apple; we never see it.
Photos — to add photos to shared albums and posts.
Notifications — to remind you of medications, appointments, and tasks.

5. Health and sensitive information

Care features (medication reminders, appointments, care journal) and vault entries may contain sensitive information. This data is stored on your device, protected by iOS data protection and, for the vault, an optional Face ID lock. We do not transmit it to us or to any third party. We recommend the vault store references to documents (e.g. policy numbers), not full copies of sensitive IDs.

6. Children's privacy

FamilyBridge is designed for families to use together and is managed by an adult family administrator. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; in fact, we do not collect personal information from anyone. Child profiles exist only on the family's own device(s)/iCloud and are controlled by the family.

7. Data sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone. There is no advertising in the app.

8. Data retention and deletion

Because your data lives on your device (and, if enabled, your iCloud), you control it. Deleting the app removes its on-device data. To remove synced data, delete it in the app or manage it in your iCloud settings.

9. Security

We use Apple's on-device encryption (iOS Data Protection) and an optional biometric lock for the vault. No method of storage is 100% secure, but because we never transmit your data to our own servers, there is no central store of it to breach.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, note it in the app's release notes.
